| Brilliant One, One of the things I miss about my sweet grandmother is her keen attunement to the seasons, especially when it came to keeping her house in order. She’d say: “It’s April! So it’s time to send the drapes to the cleaners!” Which… let’s just say April does not mean “clean the drapes” in my mind. Or she’d say: “It’s November, so I just finished off dusting off the top of the fridge!” Me (silently): “Have I ever dusted the top of my fridge?” I joke, but the truth is that this apple didn’t fall too terribly far from the tree. I think in seasonal terms, too. During the first few months of every year, I hit the ground running, taking action and building momentum on my vision for the year. In the Spring, I take a course or read up on some topic I’ve never explored before. And in the Fall, right around October, I start reviewing the year, celebrating what’s working and releasing what isn’t, and allowing a clear for the next year to come into focus. So what do I do during the Summer? In my world, Summertime is for SELF-DISCOVERY. In the Summer I assess, gut-check and soul-check myself and my life. I celebrate what’s working and see what’s out of alignment: I explore my gifts and strengths at a new level of depthI evaluate whether my values, identity, beliefs and actions are in alignment, so I can course-correct or shed what no longer serves meI take a frank, compassionate look at my habits, relationships, patterns… and the outcomes I’ve created, andI listen to my own Inner Guidance on what next steps feel natural, inspired and in the flow to me on my path of ever-increasing success, happiness and abundance.
